7-Step Plan to Go From Renting to Owning a House
I toured the “McGarrity” by Cavalier Homes on display at Recreational Resort Cottages and Cabins in Fate, Texas. Cavalier Homes is headquartered in Addison, Alabama, and has served Alabama with high-quality manufactured homes since 1984.
Cavalier Homes joined the Clayton Homes family of brands in 2009. In doing so, their premium manufactured homes are more attainable than ever. Their network of local builder partners now extends from Alabama to Florida and Georgia.
Cavalier Homes offers three series: the legacy, the cavalier, and the dynasty. Today’s home is part of the dynasty series.
The “McGarrity” model boasts a ranch-style interior, four bedrooms, and 2,456 square feet of living space. This home showcases features you may not expect from a manufactured home. These features include exposed beams, large walk-in closets, and upgraded kitchen features like an oversized apron sink.

Triple-Wide Home Exterior
The home’s triple-wide exterior boasts dark siding, white-framed windows, and a spacious front porch. The front porch offers two doors to access the home. The first door leads to a foyer and the second door leads to the kitchen.
The porch includes natural wooden accents that contrast with the dark siding. It is evident from the exterior of the home that a spacious interior awaits.
Spacious Manufactured Home Interior
The home’s spacious interior boasts 2,456 square feet of living space, rich plank flooring, and a convenient open-concept floor plan. Right off the home’s front entryway, you catch a glimpse of the living area, dining room, and gourmet kitchen. While the home showcases a relatively open floor plan, the placement of the dining area provides the feel of a formal dining area. The kitchen is incredibly spacious and doesn’t cut corners when it comes to cabinet space.
All of the bedrooms reside on one side of the home. The living room, kitchen, dining area, and utility room reside on the other half. The bedrooms are laid out almost like a maze. With each twist and turn, a new surprise awaits. A shared hall bathroom conveniently sits in the middle.
Living Area
The impressive living area features plank flooring, an updated light fixture, exposed beams, and a cozy wood-burning fireplace. The fireplace includes a gorgeous stone surround and a contrasting white mantle.
Windows flank either side of the fireplace and flood the home with natural light. The living area as a whole showcases a comfortable aesthetic, perfect for families.
Eat-in Kitchen
An oversized entryway leads from the living area to the kitchen. The eat-in kitchen includes a spacious island, stainless steel apron sink, and a polished tile backsplash. An intricate light fixture presides over the island and adds rustic character to the space. The island includes convenient storage and an overhang with space for three bar stools.
Two picture-frame windows rest above the stainless steel apron sink. The windows flood the kitchen with natural light and offer a glimpse of the home’s backyard. The kitchen includes plentiful cabinet and counter space alike.
Dining Area
From the kitchen, step into the separate dining area. While the home showcases an overall open-concept floor plan, the dining area does provide subtle separation.
The dining area is surrounded by windows casting natural light into the room. The rustic exposed beam accents and plank flooring extend into the dining area. A rustic light fixture further illuminates the space. A few steps beyond the dining area is the second door to access the porch.
Utility Room
Beyond the dining area, access a spacious utility room. The utility room includes washer and dryer hookups, a built-in hanging rack, an oversized wash basin, and a storage closet.
While a slight walk from the kitchen, this storage closet could serve as a pantry. There is plenty of space in the utility room to add a second refrigerator or even a dog bath.
The Primary Suite
The primary suite resides on the opposite side of the home from the utility room. The room includes a charming tray ceiling, rustic exposed beams, rich plank flooring, and a spacious floor plan.
In addition to an overhead light and ceiling fan, there is also recessed lighting. Two windows offer a glimpse into the home’s side yard. The room is so spacious it easily fits a king bed, nightstands, and a dresser. A door off the primary bedroom leads to the massive primary en-suite bathroom.
The Primary Bathroom
The primary en-suite bathroom boasts a soaking tub, double vanities, a water closet, and a walk-in shower. The walk-in shower features a unique weathered-wood tile surround.
A door across from the double vanities leads to the spacious walk-in closet. The closet includes convenient built-in hanging racks and shelves. Natural light flows in from a transom window at the top of the closet. Between the walk-in closet and tile-surround shower, a built-in linen closet adds additional convenience.
Additional Bedrooms
The home includes three additional bedrooms. These are not your typical manufactured home bedrooms. They provide unmatched space and convenience. All three oversized bedrooms include plank flooring, walk-in closets with built-ins, and a shared full bathroom.
Access the bathroom through one of two doors. The first door rests in the hallway adjacent to the second and third bedrooms. The second door resides on the far side, across from the fourth bedroom.
The shared bathroom includes a tubbed shower and convenient double vanity. An additional door separates the toilet and shower from the double vanity.
Final Thoughts on This Triple-Wide Manufactured Home
The “McGarrity” by Cavalier Homes provides an incredibly spacious 2,456-square-foot, triple-wide home interior. No corners were cut making each and every room in this home comfortable. Even the three additional bedrooms all feature expansive walk-in closets. On top of that, the bedrooms themselves were surprisingly large. Finally, the impressive primary suite does not disappoint. The room itself is super spacious and includes access to an en-suite bathroom and walk-in closet.
Cavalier Homes allows you to customize the features of this home. This gives you the opportunity to design the home as you best see fit. With this kind of flexibility, it would be difficult to say no to this incredible home!
If the “McGarrity” isn’t your style, Cavalier Homes has plenty of other models that may fit your lifestyle.
