What Is Modern Bohemian?
Modern bohemian style is all about mixing and matching different pieces to create a unique and personal space. It is often said that bohemian style is more about attitude than anything else.
Modern bohemians are free spirits who believe in following their own paths in life. When it comes to home décor, they are not afraid to experiment with different looks and embrace unusual pieces.
This can result in homes that are full of color and personality. Modern bohemians often mix vintage and antique pieces with more contemporary furniture and accessories. eclectic artwork,
Persian rugs and global-inspired textiles are also typical features of this style.
While modern bohemian homes can be highly individualized, there are some common elements that help to define the look. These include: neutral colors, natural materials, plants, and graphic patterns.

Home Interior Of The Aspen
You are greeted at the door of your home by frosted glass double doors and patio to your left. The two-story entryway shines with sunlight shining in through the large windows in the great room.
To the right of the entry way, is a fully functional work-from-home office space. Gorgeous built-in shelving allows for ample storage.
Two large windows bathe the office in natural light, along with the glass double doors that lead into it. A picturesque space for zoom meetings and getting creative.
Full of natural light from the window and complete with a gorgeous light fixture this is the perfect place for holiday meals. Modern touches are added through the exposed metal trusses.
Exposed beams create a warmth and rustic feel to the otherwise open and modern-feeling space. The room is flanked by the open concept kitchen to its left and another dining area with wet bar to the right.
The wet bar area opens up onto the massive covered and uncovered deck perfect for entertaining.
As part of the spacious open floor plan, the gourmet kitchen sits to the left of the great room. A sprawling island with dark limestone countertop sits in the middle of the kitchen. It has a sleek black sink and black plumbing accessories creating a modern feel in the warm kitchen.
There is no shortage of storage in this kitchen with floor-to-ceiling cabinets accented by warm quartz countertops and backsplash.
The gorgeous wooden vent hood adds another touch of warmth to the modern bohemian kitchen. The kitchen is decked out with floating shelfs, a chef’s fridge, two dishwashers. It also has a beautiful eating area that sits between the kitchen and access out onto the back porch.
Next to the kitchen is the walk in pantry with built in shelving. Here you will also find the the mudroom from the 4-car garage complete with built in lockers and storage.
At the top of the staircase, you are led directly to the primary suite. Immediately you are met by what makes this house so unique- the multiple mediums used in construction. The primary suite has an amazing stone accent wall that ties all elements of this home together. This room has not only one, but two walk- in closets on either side of the sleeping area.
If I lived in this home, one of the places I would never leave would be the primary bath. Two vanities on either side of the bathroom create a walkway to one of the most luxurious ceramic showers you could dream of.
A completely enclosed double shower with rain shower heads stand on either side of a stand-alone soaking tub. This soaking tub sits eloquently below a picture window looking out on the landscaping below.
Down the hall from the master bedroom are three additional spacious bedrooms. The first looks out onto the front yard. It is complete with private bath and walk-in closet.
On the opposite end of the hall from the first bedroom are two more large rooms. These two rooms are connected by a jack-and-jill bathroom each with their own walk-in closets. Then the basement rounds out the fifth bedroom that we will see when we visit the lower floor.
Downstairs on the lower level, the finished basement is ready for you to have some fun in. A spacious living area with fireplace and picture windows look out onto the sprawling backyard.
The full bar and open-area game room is where the real fun begins though. The game room opens up onto the lower patio for extended indoor/outdoor entertaining on the lower level. The bar is complete with a full-sized fridge, wine storage and amazingly sleek honeycomb tile backsplash. This is the perfect spot for game-night, football parties or Academy Award watch parties. The possibilities are endless.
There is also a bedroom with private access to the lower patio. This room sits opposite the bar and game area and could make a great kids room. There is also a full bathroom and space for office. However, it is currently set up as a workout room.
On the third floor, you will find a generously sized bonus room or flex space.
This bonus area is even complete with a full bathroom. This could easily be the perfect space for sleepovers or movie nights, or could be turned into an additional bedroom.
On the second floor is a gorgeous laundry room with a gorgeous tile accent floor.
The room is complete with a front-load washer and dryer. There is also a sink, plenty of storage and folding area complete the space.
