The Outside Of This Rustic Cabin Style Modular Home
The outside of this home has a nice mossy green vinyl siding with plenty of windows sitting on the front side of the home. To the left of the home, you will find a set of sliding glass doors that lead into a spectacular sunroom.
On the right-hand side of the home that you will find a large two-car garage. Then sitting right in the middle, you will find a covered overhang that leads up to the front entryway.
As you work your way around to the back of the home you will find several more windows peering out of both the master bedroom as well as the kitchen and the sunroom.Â
The “Northwood’s” Rustic Cabin Interior Design
As you step inside of this cabin style modular home you are greeted with views into the living room, the kitchen, and the dining room.
You will notice several cabin style accents that take the form of gorgeous rustic beams that accent this entire living space.Â
The Living Room
To the left of the front door is the living room. The living room faces the front side of the home with two large windows that let in plenty of additional lighting. The living room is compact however it does offer plenty of space for several different furniture arrangements.
In this model they had a small entertainment center set up in one of the corners. However, personally I would want to replace that with some type of heating element whether it be a wood burning stove or some other type of fireplace.Â
The Sunroom
Next to the living room you will find a set of french doors that open into the sunroom. At the front of the sunroom, you will find the sliding glass door that could lead out onto a future porch or other type of outdoor living space.
There are plenty of windows within the sunroom that let in tons of light, thus, a sunroom. Here you could put any number of things such as extra furniture or turn this into a game room. But let me know what you would do with it down in the comments.
Towards the back of the sunroom, you will find a window that opens into the dining room space where you can easily pass food back and forth. Just below this window is a small little bar area where you can add some stools and have a wonderful place to eat as well.Â
The Dining Room
Behind the living room, closest to the sunroom, you will find the dining room. The dining room has a nice rustic wood table in this model which I found super unique.
However, the dining room does have plenty of space for a large dining room table and it has a wonderful light fixture that hangs down over the center.
Along the perimeter of the dining room, you can also place several other different pieces of furniture if you choose to do so. But overall, I was not mad with the setup that they went with.Â
The Kitchen
Next to the dining room is the kitchen. The kitchen features a tremendous amount of hickory cabinetry, as well as, a beautiful island sitting right in the middle. The island has a couple different counter levels with a raised bar on the dining room side. This is a perfect place to sit and eat breakfast or small snacks and it does have plenty of room for approximately 4 stools.
On the opposite side of the island, the counter drops down with plenty of outlets and space to prep your food. Here you will also find plenty of extra storage in the form of cabinets and drawers.Â
The main portion of the kitchen is laid out in an “L” shape with the kitchen sink sitting along the back wall, just up underneath a window. Along this side of the kitchen, you will also find plenty more cabinets along with a nice dishwasher.Â
On the opposite side of the kitchen is where the stove and microwave sit. They are the centerpiece of this side of the kitchen and are surrounded by plenty of cabinets and drawers.
One of the unique features of this kitchen is a slide out chopping block which I found unique as well. The only thing that I would worry about is how much weight it could hold. I do not want to be chopping potatoes and then suddenly… well you know.Â
The Laundry Room
Sitting between the kitchen and the living room is a hallway that leads down to the laundry room, as well as, all the bedrooms.Â
As you walk down the hallway, the first door on the left-hand side, houses what would eventually be the stairwell down into the basement. Across the hall from that is the door into the laundry room.
Within the laundry room you will find a great big linen closet and the washer and dryer hookups.
At the back of the laundry room is the doorway that leads out into the two-car garage. Overall, I found the placement of the garage, nice. You are not too far from the kitchen from this entrance point.Â
The Secondary Bedroom and Bathroom
Passed the laundry room, on the right-hand side, you will come to the first full bathroom.
This bathroom features a single vanity with some nice light fixtures. It also has a medicine cabinet behind the mirror along with a toilet and a shower and tub combo.Â
All the way at the end of the hall, on the right-hand side, you will come to the secondary bedroom. This is the smaller of the two bedrooms measuring in at approximately 13ft 3in X 13ft 0in.
It has plenty of space for a large bed, as well as, a dresser and several nightstands. This room does sit on the side of the home with a nice window that lets in plenty of light and offers views into the side yard.Â
The Master Suite
Across the hallway from this bedroom, you will enter the master bedroom. The master bedroom is nice and spacious, measuring in at approximately 13ft 3in X 14ft 1in.
It has plenty of room for a large king-size bed, as well as, several dressers and nightstands. This room sits at the backside of the home and has a large window that lets in plenty of light.
In the far back corner of the bedroom, you will find a large walk-in closet with plenty of shelves and space to store your clothes.Â
To the left as you enter the master bedroom, you will find a doorway into the ensuite. The ensuite was smaller than I was expecting and only has a single vanity and a standard shower and tub combo.
While it does have plenty of cabinets… after seeing the rest of the home, I was expecting a little more of the surprise when it came to the ensuite.
However, it is functional and for that I cannot knock it.
Final Thoughts On This Rustic Cabin
The Northwood is without a doubt the coolest rustic cabin I’ve seen. From its exterior to its interior, this modular home has everything you need to enjoy the great outdoors in style. If you’re looking for a rustic cabin floor plan that’s both stylish and affordable, the Northwood is the one.
