Modern Farmhouse Exterior
America’s Home Place offers four custom home exterior options:
- Berglund L: An Acadian ranch-style home with board and batten siding. It has a covered porch with four pillars.
- Berglund R: A Craftsman-style home with two pillars and a much smaller front porch.
- Berglund S: A traditional-style home with stone siding
- Berglund Modern Farmhouse: Four pillars holding up a covered porch. It has a board and batten siding.
The show house is “The Berglund Modern Farmhouse” style.
The beauty of the modern farmhouse design is clear by the gorgeous front porch. Four pillars frame the porch with windows on either side of the door.
The show home boasts white, board-and-batten siding and traditional siding with black shutters. The traditional vinyl and board-and-batten sidings wrap around the sides of the house.
This home features a convenient three-car garage. With the home as toured, one garage stall is an office space for the company.
Around the back of the custom home is a porch situated next to three windows with a storm door leading into the living room.
Cozy, Custom Home Interior
When you enter the home, you step onto the porch and through a lovely white door with a big glass window. The custom home has a foyer that looks into the main part of the home. From the entryway, you can see the open-concept living room, kitchen, and dining room.
The landing has a vinyl plank floor, which transitions to carpet for most of the home.
If you don’t like carpet, don’t worry. Since these are custom homes, you can change the flooring. Also, you can customize any of the finishes in these homes to make them suit your tastes and needs.
At-Home Office
To the right of the front entryway, an at-home office space sits up toward the front of the home. The room is flooded with ample natural lighting from a large window that looks out onto the front porch.
A desk, office chair, and bookshelves easily fit in the room. If you are not in need of an at-home office, this space could also be utilized as a flex room or reading room.
Additionally, there is also the option to turn this space into a convenient fourth bedroom. This is a great option if your family needs more space.
First Entry-Level Bedroom
To the left of the foyer, a hallway leads to two entry-level bedrooms. The first bedroom measures 12’8″x12’0″ and resides at the top of the hall. This bedroom sits at the front of the home and has a large double window looking out to the front porch.
The room also features a nice-sized step-in closet with wire shelves.
As you exit the room, a convenient linen closet adds additional practical storage.
Full Bathroom
A few steps from the first bedroom is a full bathroom. The full bathroom includes a single vanity with polished granite countertops. It also features an undermount sink with brazed bronze fixtures. Trumpet-shaped vanity lights sit above the construction-grade mirror.
A toilet sits between the vanity and the tubbed shower and boasts matching black fixtures. Just beyond the bathroom, an additional linen closet with built-in wire shelves.
Second Entry-Level Bedroom
Access the second entry-level bathroom at the end of the hall. Just as with the first bedroom, this room also measures 12’8″x12’0″. The room includes two convenient windows that cast abundant natural light into the bedroom. The first window overlooks the home’s backyard while the second faces the side yard.
A large step-in closet opens up from a door near the side window. This closet includes attice access.
Living Room
As you continue to venture through the custom home, access the open-concept living room. The oversized living area overlooks the backyard and opens up to the gourmet kitchen. A door off the living area leads to a spacious covered back patio.
A cozy gas fireplace rests on the back wall. The fireplace includes a stone hearth and a rustic, wooden mantle. You can get this custom home feature as a real, wood-burning fireplace.
Next to the fireplace, there is some space for a hutch or end table.
As mentioned, this open-concept home offers seamless access to the home’s gourmet kitchen and dining room.
Kitchen and Dining Room
The gourmet kitchen includes delightful and modern mossy green island cabinets. There are outlets on both sides and plenty of seating for three to four bar stools. A stainless steel dishwasher and undermount sink complete the island.
Opposite that, white cabinets line the back wall. There is some space above the cabinets to add decorative touches.
The granite countertops span the room. They are on either side of the refrigerator and line the other wall. The kitchen contains a stainless steel microwave, stove, and refrigerator.
Then, there is a large, walk-in pantry off of the kitchen with a window for natural light. It also has lots of wire shelving for storage.
Just steps from the eat-in kitchen is the dining room. The formal dining room features plenty of natural light and a subtle separation from the gourmet kitchen.
This gives it a sense of separation while also keeping it open. In the center of the room, a beautiful chandelier illuminates the space and boasts black accents.
Finished Basement
As you exit the kitchen toward the back of the room, there is another hall with a view of stairs to the basement. To the right is the entrance to the garage, and down the stairs is a finished basement.
This particular finished basement was the design studio for the company. Here you can get a glimpse at some of the finishings America’s Home Place has to offer.
If you chose the finished basement for your custom home, you could turn it into a flex room. Other options include an exercise space or another bedroom. The sky’s the limit.
Laundry Room
After you ascend the stairs back to the hallway, there is a linen closet outside the kitchen. To the right of that, is the laundry room.
It is a fairly nice-sized laundry room. It has wire shelving, racks for hanging, and washer/dryer hookups.
Primary Suite
The primary bedroom is large, measuring 13’5’’ x 19’ 0’’. This gives you space for a bed and other decor. There are two large windows at the back of the room.
Once you go through the door at the back of the room, to the right there is a walk-in closet. There are several wire shelves for storage.
Then, you can go into the primary bathroom. There is a walk-in shower with brazed bronze fixtures and white subway tile on the surround. The shower tray has gray tile, and at the back, there is a shelf in the corner.
There is a double vanity with a make-up vanity between. The soaking tub is flanked by two ledges and a window. At the back of the bathroom, find the water closet and a convenient linen closet.
