I have been waiting to see this one! This is Schumacher Homes’ award winning home design of the year winner. It’s pretty easy to see why once inside!
The home featured in this tour is part of the Schumacher Homes Earnhardt Collection. It is the “Blue Ridge” one of their site built models on display at the Asheville, NC location. This model as toured has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms inside a 2032sqft layout. It features 2 beautiful fireplaces, a gorgeous kitchen and just all around great character.
This stunning home design was a recipient of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Gold Winning Home of The Year Award. The “Earnhardt Collection” is a collaboration with designer and builder, Rene and Kerry Earnhardt and Schumacher Homes. This collection is inspired by casual atmospheres and nature. The Living Room
As you enter this home from the front door, you are greeted with a large foyer that immediately gives way to a magnificent great room. The great room has a gorgeous floor to ceiling stone fireplace and built ins on either side with shelves and cabinets galore. The ceilings, as with all the Schumacher Homes’ Earnhardt Collection, have wonderful exposed rustic beams. These beams run the length of living room and its adjacent space, the kitchen.
Attached to the great room is the kitchen with the open concept floor design. The kitchen features a triangle shaped island with a sink and dishwasher, quartz countertops and a raised counter for a breakfast bar. The Stone surround the encompasses the stove is over-the-top beautiful, one of the best I have seen in a Schumacher Home Design yet! Next to the island, there is a large space for a dining table before exiting out onto the back porch.
The porch on this Schumacher Home is the best feature I have seen all year. It has a wood burning stone fireplace with plenty of space for socializing, a built in above the mantel for a tv, a super cute swing and to top it off it has a built in grill on the opposite side. It is a beautiful space and definitely one that is going on my “must have list”.
The Guest Bedrooms
Guest bedrooms or additional bedrooms, whatever you call them, are located back across the home to the right of the front entrance. You will enter a hallway off the living room and immediately come to the first of the 2 bedrooms. The second bedroom is located down the hall towards the back of the home, just past the first full bathroom. Both bedrooms are approximately 11’0″ x 12’0″.
The Bonus Areas
Between the kitchen and living room, behind a small wall, lies a lovely office space or study. I grouped this in with the bonus areas, but this is standard on this floor plan. The real bonus area is just a little further up, right off the kitchen. There are stairs that lead up to a large bonus room that sits over the top of the 2 car garage.
The Master Suite
The master bedroom sits behind the kitchen and accessed through its very own corridor. Through this entry way, the room opens up to this fantastic space with gorgeous tray ceilings. There is plenty of space for a king size bed and even more room for some sitting furniture. The room is approximately 13’0″ x 17’0″, just to give you an idea. This bedroom also has private access out on to the back porch. Opposite the porch door is the master bathroom. Here you will find a double vanity, large soaking tub, stand alone shower and his and her walk in closets.
There is not a doubt in my mind why Schumacher Homes “Blue Ridge” Home Design won a home of the year award. It is gorgeous in every way. What do you think about this home?
