I toured the “West Point” by Schumacher Homes while on a recent trip to Akron, Ohio. Schumacher Homes serves 12 states with beautifully-crafted custom homes.
Their team is available to build within 75 miles of one of their design studios. With over 40 custom-model home styles available, you’d be hard-pressed not to find your dream home!
The “West Point” model features a four-bed, three-and-a-half bath, site-built home. The home doesn’t spare an expense when it comes to optimizing every square foot. From the gourmet kitchen and chef’s kitchen to the entry-level primary suite, it’s hard not to fall in love with this home.

The exterior of the “West Point” boasts blue shake-shingle siding broken up by natural stone accents and white-framed windows. An exposed wooden truss presides over the front entryway and highlights one of the many sharp gables.
The shake-shingle siding transitions to traditional siding as you continue around the home to the garage. The exterior of the garage boasts a charming carriage-style garage door. Finally, the rear of the home includes expansive picture-frame windows and two access doors.
Spacious Home Interior
The interior of the home features four beds, three-and-a-half baths, and 3,718 square feet. Plank flooring leads from the front entryway and into the open-concept living area.
The two-story living area is flooded with natural light flowing in from large picture-frame windows. A set of stairs off the entryway leads to the home’s second story.
The upper-level loft overlooks the living area and takes advantage of the natural light pouring in from the same picture-frame windows.

Just past the front foyer, access a spacious two-story living area. The open-concept living area boasts an oversized floor-to-ceiling fireplace and expansive picture-frame windows.
A cove ceiling with LED lighting helps the space feel even more open and spacious.
Finally, access the gourmet kitchen just steps from the living area.
Gourmet Kitchen
The gourmet kitchen features a huge island, a tile backsplash, and a built-in microwave and oven. The island comfortably seats six barstools and includes an undermount sink, dishwasher, and plenty of cabinet space. Three glass-dome pendant lights reside above the island.
The back wall includes a tile backsplash that goes all the way up to the ceiling, a gas stovetop, and a stainless steel range hood.
A glass-paned door off the kitchen leads to an impressive chef’s pantry. The chef’s pantry boasts a second refrigerator, dishwasher, undermount sink, and a full wall of built-in shelves.
Formal Dining Room
Access the sun-soaked formal dining room just beyond the kitchen.
The spacious formal dining room includes plank flooring, an eye-catching ceiling design, and a sliding glass door to access the backyard. Abundant natural light flows in from several oversized windows.
Powder Room
A hallway off the kitchen leads to a convenient powder bath. The powder bath includes a single vanity, decorative wallpaper, and crown molding.
Laundry Room
Across the hall from the powder room is the spacious laundry room. The laundry room rivals anything we’ve ever seen before.
The room includes washer and dryer hookups, built-in cabinets, a subway tile backsplash, and a counter space to easily fold clothes.
Mudroom
Around the corner from the laundry room, access the mudroom. The mudroom includes a spacious walk-in closet and a built-in drop zone with cubbies, cabinets, and a bench.
Across from the drop zone is a convenient desk space. A door off the mudroom leads to the two-car garage.
Entry-Level Owner’s Retreat
The entry-level owner’s retreat does not disappoint! The bedroom measures 19’0”x16’0” and boasts a wallpapered accent wall, decorative ceiling, and plank flooring.
A door off the bedroom grants private access to the backyard.
The En-Suite Bathroom
The primary bedroom leads into a spacious en-suite bathroom. The en-suite bathroom features an extensive double vanity, a stand-alone tub, two separate water closets, and a walk-in shower.
The tile-surround walk-in shower includes a tile tray and a shower niche. To sweeten the deal, the double vanity also includes a makeup vanity in the middle.
The en-suite bathroom leads to two separate walk-in closets. The closets both include convenient wooden built-in shelves and hanging racks.
Upper-Level Loft
Upstairs, a spacious loft area and three additional bedrooms await.
The loft area is open to the living area below and includes a convenient built-in bench with a shiplap wall. This area makes the perfect reading nook or homework space.
Additional Bedrooms
The first bedroom measures 12’0”x11’0” and includes carpet flooring, a dark accent wall, a walk-in closet, and an en-suite bathroom. The en-suite bathroom boasts a single vanity and a tile-surround tubbed shower.
The second bedroom measures 15’0”x11’0” and also features a walk-in closet and accent wall. Instead of an en-suite bathroom, this room includes access to a Jack-and-Jill bathroom.
The bathroom includes an oversized single vanity and a separate room with a tile-surround tubbed shower and toilet.
Walk through the Jack-and-Jill bathroom or the adjoining hallway to access the third bedroom. The third and final bedroom measures 14’0”x11’0” and also includes carpet flooring and a walk-in closet.
Two-Car Garage
The “West Point” model includes a uniquely angled two-car garage. The angled design adds unmatched curb appeal to the home. Additionally, the exterior of the garage boasts a charming carriage-style garage door. Access the garage through the mudroom in the interior of the home.
