Eco-Friendly Double-Wide Manufactured Home

Manufactured homes provide affordable, energy-efficient, and eco-friendly residences in record time when compared to site-built homes. Thanks to innovative new technologies, manufactured homes are available in more locations than ever.

The “RC3068A” double-wide manufactured home by Karsten Homes is no different!

7-Step Plan to Go From Renting to Owning a House

I toured the “RC3068A” by Karsten Homes displayed at Homes Direct while on a recent trip to Albuquerque, New Mexico. Karsten Homes has served families throughout the US with expertly crafted manufactured homes since 1998.

In 2005, Karsten Homes teamed up with Clayton Homes, a Berkshire Hathaway company, to achieve wider distribution and an impressive reputation.

The “RC3068A” model boasts one story of spacious living, three bedrooms, and 2,040 square feet of open-concept living space. The home provides abundant storage space, with ample coat and linen closets alike.

Each of the bedrooms even boasts an oversized walk-in closet, something you’d be hard-pressed to find in another manufactured home.

A door at the rear of the home provides an additional way to access the property and leads into the laundry/utility room.

Manufactured Home Interior Plans

The manufactured home’s interior includes three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and 2,040 square feet of open-concept living. The oversized living area resides just beyond the front entryway and offers a glimpse into the kitchen and dining area. A convenient coat closet completes the front foyer. Carpet flooring extends throughout the living and dining area and transitions to plank flooring in the kitchen.

Living Room

Locate the living room directly off the front entryway of the home. The oversized living area is large enough for a gathering and easily fits a sofa, loveseat, and chair.

Three windows cast ample natural light into the room and offer a glimpse into the home’s front yard. Carpet flooring and crown molding both extend from the living area and into the dining room.

Formal Dining Room

The formal dining area resides in a separate room between the living area and the kitchen. The room features crown molding, carpet flooring, and an intricate light fixture.

Formal dining room

While it is a formal dining room, the space still offers an open-concept feel with two oversized entryways, one to the living area and the second providing access to the kitchen.

We are seeing formal dining areas like this more and more in the homes we have toured. The dining room location provides the perfect compromise for homeowners who want an open-concept feel while still providing a subtle separation for the dining space.

Kitchen

The L-shaped gourmet kitchen features plank flooring, laminate countertops, recessed lighting, a tile backsplash, and a large island. The two-tier island provides dimension to the kitchen in addition to bar seating, cabinet, and counter space.

All cabinets boast wooden picture-frame doors. Skylights flank either side of the island and flood the kitchen with natural light.

A double bowl sink resides on the back wall of the kitchen just below a large window offering a glimpse into the backyard. The space also includes a convenient built-in pantry to the left of the refrigerator. An adjacent closet provides additional closet space to easily hide away larger kitchen gadgets.

Laundry/Utility Room

An oversized hallway off the kitchen leads to the laundry/utility room and primary suite. The hallway itself is large enough to house a desk for a small study space. Just beyond, the laundry/utility room features washer and dryer hookups and a door to access the backyard.

With the room providing a door to access to the backyard, the laundry/utility space can easily serve as a mudroom.

Laundry and utility room

To create the mudroom, simply add a built-in dropzone to the room for your family to stow away bags and shoes. Convenient built-in cabinets and hanging racks reside over the washer and dryer, making laundry a breeze.

The Primary Suite

The entry-level primary suite features carpet flooring, crown molding, and a convenient ceiling fan. The bedroom provides access to an expansive walk-in closet. The oversized walk-in closet includes built-in cubbies and hanging racks.

Primary bedroom

Overhead, three square windows add a subtle glow to the closet space. On the far side of the bedroom, double doors lead to an impressive en-suite bathroom.

The Primary Bathroom

The en-suite bathroom boasts double vanities, a tile-surround shower, and a soaking tub. The walk-in shower features a built-in bench and single shower head.

Primary bathroom

A transom window presides over the double vanity and casts abundant natural light into the bathroom. A separate water closet hides away the toilet. Across from the water closet, a practical linen closet provides additional storage space.

Additional Bedrooms

The “RC3068A” floor plan includes two additional bedrooms. Both bedrooms are located on the opposite side of the home from the primary suite. The bedrooms include carpet flooring, crown molding, large walk-in closets, and a shared hall bathroom.

Three bedroom home additional bedroom

These large, walk-in closets are truly unlike anything we’ve seen in the spare bedrooms for manufactured homes. Both closets include convenient built-ins to hang clothes with ease. Finally, the shared hall bathroom features a single vanity, plank flooring, a tubbed shower, and a transom window.

Final Thoughts on This Double-Wide Manufactured Home

No sacrifices have to be made when it comes to this space. The home boasts 2,040 square feet of living space, a formal dining room, and an expansive primary suite. Furthermore, the two additional bedrooms also include walk-in closets and a shared hall bathroom.
