The exterior of the “Laurel” really stands out against most other homes. The front of the home has beautiful, and I mean beautiful white stonework that is accented at the top with white board-and-batten siding.
Leading up to the front door there is an archway and a window just above cut out of the stone that displays a lantern illuminating the front porch. The best way I can think of to describe this home is a modern fairy tale style (if that is even a thing). The back of the home is also charming. There is a cute covered patio with a built-in wood-burning fireplace.
Custom Built Home Interior
Upon entering through the front door, you are greeted with a two-story foyer and a beautiful chandelier hanging above. Still staring upwards in awe, there is a catwalk cutout in the upstairs hallway. It really opens the space up and gives it a very grand feel.
The layout of the home is very open. Still standing in the entryway, you can see to the left is a flex room/office, to the right is the formal dining room, and straight ahead is the family room.
The family room is a really great size and has a gas fireplace with a really pretty tile surround and windows on either side of it. Above the fireplace is a mantle and space for a TV. My favorite part of this room is the staircase.
I love the turns that it has and the dark spindles with the wood stairs and white trim. It really adds a whole dimension to the room that would have otherwise been lost.
The family room opens up to the informal dining area and kitchen. There is plenty of room in this dining area for a table and chairs as well as a hutch or buffet table. From the dining room is also access to the cute patio area, which would be perfect for a patio table and chairs. It would be perfect to eat outside on a nice night while enjoying a fire in the fireplace!
Moving through, we come to the kitchen. The first thing I notice about the kitchen are the navy blue cabinets. I really like that they are a different color. It makes the home feel a little more unique. There is plenty of cabinet and counterspace lining the outside of the kitchen along with stainless appliances and a stainless undermount sink. The island is a good size and I do like that it’s square instead of a longer rectangle shape.
First Floor Bedroom/Bonus Room
Off the kitchen, there is a full bathroom with a single vanity and shower tub combo. Just beyond that is the first of the five bedrooms. This is the only bedroom on the first floor, but it’s tucked into the corner of the home and doesn’t seem out of place. There is plenty of lighting in the room thanks to the large windows. There is also a double-size step-in closet. This room has the option to be a den, flex room, or bedroom. In this model, it is set up as a bedroom.
Heading upstairs you are greeted with a large landing area and a bonus media room that creates a great common area for all of the bedrooms that are on the second floor. There is also a linen closet at the top of the stairs and a utility room for the washer and dryer.
The first bedroom we come to upstairs is the master bedroom. I love the layout of this room. It is very long, which gives it a lot of options as far as the layout goes. There is room for the bed and normal bedroom accessories such as a dresser and nightstands. There is also room for a nice sitting area or workout equipment if that is something that interests you. I just really like the idea of the possibilities with this room.
The master bathroom is also very spacious. To the right is a beautiful double vanity with the same matching navy blue cabinets as in the kitchen. Across the way, you will find a deep soaking tub with a white and gray tile marble surround. Next to the tub is a glass door shower with jet nozzles and a detachable shower head.
The shower is also lined with the same white and gray marble tile that goes all the way to the ceiling. Continuing through the bathroom, you enter the master closet. The closet is probably one of the longest I have seen, with shelves lining either side. There is definitely enough room in here for all your clothes and shoes for every season.
Second, Third, & Fourth Bedrooms
In addition to the master suite, there are three bedrooms upstairs. The first bedroom is just past the media room. It is a nice size and has a nice double closet. Next to that is the full bathroom with a shower tub combo, double vanity with a huge mirror, and undermount sinks.
Coming out of the bathroom, you are greeted with the catwalk area we saw at the beginning of the tour in the foyer. It was beautiful from below, but from upstairs it is even more stunning. From here, there is a bedroom in either direction. Both are a really nice size and can fit a full-sized bed comfortably as well as a dresser and nightstand. Both rooms have full-size closets with outward-opening doors.
