Let’s face it. North Carolina has some incredible home builders of all types! Modular homes especially, are more popular than ever. There is one, though, that stands far above the rest. It is without a doubt, one of the best 2 story modular homes in NC!

I had received so many requests to travel down to North Carolina and tour the modular homes at Homes by Vanderbuilt’s model center and they definitely had some of the most amazing 2-story modular homes not just in North Carolina, but along the east coast.
The first thing that stuck out to me with the “Southport” was the beautiful wrap-around porch and super cute dormers that bring this home to life.
The Southport is by R-Anell Homes, one of my favorite modular home builders right up there next to Ritz-Craft. They have a wide range of stunning floor plans that consist of one and two-story designs. If you are interested in this model, R-Anell homes can be found in VA, NC, and SC.

Exterior

 

When it comes to big beautiful homes with a ton of curb appeal this home is a sure winner! The outside of the “Southport” has a huge wrap-around porch with a ton of room for plenty of porch swings and rocking chairs. The front of the home is adorned with a heap of windows, all spectacularly trimmed out in white, and 3 dormers capping the top of the home off.

Stepping around to the back of this beautiful modular home, there are so many more windows peering out of both the amazing living room and large master bedroom. There is also a sliding glass door coming off the living room that would just look awesome with a gigantic porch! Just another fun place to hang out and enjoy this marvelous home.
Along the side of the home is a side door into the utility room. Here would be a great location to add a garage. But a side-facing one. You wouldn’t want to run one up along the porch and take away from the great look the front of this home has.

Foyer and Living Room

 

When you first step inside this home you are greeted with somewhat of a foyer. To the left, it has a small partition wall and two columns at the end before entering the living room area. The columns really do a great job of making it feel like an actual foyer. Just past the foyer, you will find a coat closet to the right.

From the foyer, you will enter the living room. It is a massive room that is at the center of everything that will ever happen in this home. There is plenty of space for a number of furniture layouts and has beautiful floor-to-ceiling windows along the back wall.
Here you will also find the sliding glass door we mentioned earlier. The living room offers great views back into the dining room and kitchen as well.

Dining Room and Kitchen

 

Just to the left of the foyer is the formal dining room. It is also a beautiful space with two large windows offering views back out onto the porch. It has plenty of room for a large table as well as a buffet or decorative cabinets. Above the table is a stunning light fixture that really gives the dining room a homey farmhouse feel.

The kitchen sits right off the dining room and has lovely white cabinets with counter space all the way around it. Along the front wall is a huge floor-to-ceiling window that provides incredible natural light! Over on the far side wall, you will find all the appliances including the dishwasher, stove, and microwave, as well as the sink sitting just below a window. 
In the middle of the kitchen is a perfectly sized island. It has space for several seats if you just wanted to sit and eat breakfast or prep something amazing for dinner. Another great thing that is in the kitchen and I really appreciated in all the homes, was a super spacious walk-in pantry.

Utility Room

Through the kitchen is a hall that leads back to the living room and on the opposite side, the side door and utility room. The utility room has washer and dryer hookups and a nice deep wash basin.

From here we can travel back down the hall towards the living room and run upstairs real quick. The second story of this modular home is unfinished as it was toured. It is something that you could have Homes by Vanderbuilt or your builder finish. It does have plenty of space for a few more bedrooms or just a massive bonus room. The dormers are functional too, so they would even make great spots for high-top tables or cozy reading nooks.

 

Secondary Bedrooms and Bath

 

On the opposite end of the house, you have the secondary bedrooms and the first full bathroom. The bathroom sits on the left-hand side of the hallway and has a large single vanity, toilet, and a shower and tub combo.
 Across the hall facing the front of the home is the first bedroom. This one is the smaller of the two secondary bedrooms but is still plenty large enough measuring in at approximately 11ft 4in X 11ft  9in. It has a large window on the front wall and a step-in closet on the foyer side of the room.
The second of the two bedrooms sits at the end of the hall with more of a side view of the home. This worth is much bigger than the last at 13ft 0in X 13ft 0in and has a large walk-in closet.

Master Suite

The master suite sits right around the corner from the two secondary bedrooms. It is nice and spacious measuring approximately 14ft 4in X 13ft  0in. There is plenty of room for a king-size bed and a couple of dressers. Along the back wall are two windows that also let in a heap of light as well as provide some amazing views.

The master suite sits just to the right of the room and is separated by a set of French doors. It has a double vanity and a stand-alone shower with tile surround. This bathroom doesn’t currently have a tub, however, it is an option if you had your heart set on a tub.
