Rustic Double-Wide Trailer Home by Eagle River

Manufactured homes offer a great alternative to site-built homes. These days, you rarely have to make sacrifices when selecting a double-wide trailer home over one that is site-built. That is just a testament to how far manufactured homes have come! Today’s home by Eagle River Homes is a great example.

7-Step Plan to Go From Renting to Owning a House

I toured the “Hickory House” by Eagle River Homes while on a recent trip to Palmer Manufactured Homes. Eagle River Homes has dealers spaced out throughout the Northeast, from Northern Virginia all the way up to Maine. We toured this home at the Palmer Manufactured Homes location in Waverly, New York.

This home boasts one level of spacious living, three bedrooms, and two full bathrooms. Trust me when I say this double-wide trailer home truly lives up to the name “Hickory House.”

Double-Wide Trailer Home Exterior

The exterior of the “Hickory House” model boasts neutral vinyl siding that extends all the way around the home. White-framed windows and muted red shutters break up the siding on the front of the home. Two subtle gables preside over the home’s front door.

The rear of the home features the same vinyl siding with tons of windows. In addition to the windows, there is also a sliding glass door to easily access the home.

The home as a whole measures 28’x64’.

Spacious Manufactured Home Interior

The interior of this manufactured home immediately makes a great first impression. A spacious foyer welcomes guests with a glimpse into the living area and kitchen. At the end of the foyer, a floating entry table includes cabinet storage and an easy place to keep keys. Above the floating entry table, a mirror reflects the light from the front door. On either side of the table are two built-in shelves.

Right off the foyer, a coat closet provides convenient storage. As you venture further into the home, you’ll see a transition from plank flooring to carpet throughout the space.

Eat-In Kitchen

The home’s eat-in kitchen showcases a rustic aesthetic with weathered plank flooring. Everything from the hardwood hickory cabinets to the impressive kitchen island boasts light wooden finishes.

The L-shaped kitchen includes a spacious island that sits in the center. Enjoy a true eat-in kitchen experience with an island overhang on the closest side. The overhang allows space to fit four bar stools comfortably. On the far side of the island, an undermount sink and dishwasher provide unmatched convenience. Since the sink and dishwasher are built into the island, it leaves so much counter and cabinet space throughout the rest of the kitchen.

The remainder of the kitchen boasts a tile backsplash, a gas range, and a built-in microwave.

Dining Area

The home includes an open-concept floor plan. Because of this, the dining area is actually only a few steps from the kitchen. While some people dislike not having a formal dining room, having the dining area as an extension of the kitchen is a huge win for some families.

A sliding glass door off the dining area leads to the home’s backyard.

Living Area

Back inside, venture from the dining area to the cozy living area. The living area includes carpet flooring and a cozy gas fireplace with a rustic wooden hearth.

Living rooms with fireplaces are always a crowd-pleaser. Fireplaces help to center a room and provide an obvious focal point to arrange furniture around.

On the back wall, a set of three windows flood the room with plenty of natural light.

Primary Suite

The primary suite sits on the opposite side of the home off the kitchen. The room features carpet flooring, windows overlooking the front of the home, and a spacious en-suite bathroom. There is plenty of room for a king bed with nightstands on either side.

A door off the bedroom leads to a spacious walk-in closet. The size of the closet is really a treat! There is so much room to even fit an additional dresser.

A sliding barn door sits between the bedroom and the en-suite bathroom.

Primary En-Suite Bathroom

The primary en-suite bathroom continues the hickory wood cabinets showcased throughout the rest of the home. The bathroom boasts an impressive double vanity. In between the two vanities, a glass-paned cabinet provides additional storage. Natural light flows in from the large transom window resting above the double vanity.

The en-suite bathroom also includes a tile-surround walk-in shower. The tile-surround walk-in shower includes two shower heads. Two separate linen closets complete the en-suite bathroom. The first is a six-door linen closet that sits across from the double vanity. The second is a three-door linen closet that resides beside the shower.

Additional Bedrooms

The “Hickory House” model includes two additional bedrooms. Locate the first bedroom through a door just off the living room. As with the living room, the bedroom includes carpet flooring. The room measures 13’4” long and also features convenient closet space.

Three-bedroom double-wide trailer home

Across the hall, access the second bedroom. The second bedroom feels a bit bigger and closer to a square versus the long rectangle showcases in the first bedroom. The room also includes carpet flooring and closet space.

Shared hall bathroom with hickory wood features

These two bedrooms share a full hall bathroom. The bathroom includes a single vanity, tubbed shower, and the same hickory cabinets and plank flooring seen in the kitchen. Above the tubbed shower, a random window casts natural light into the space.

Laundry Room

Finally, the far side of the home houses the utility/laundry room. The laundry room includes plank flooring, washer and dryer hookups, and a door to access the home’s side yard. The dedicated space for your washer and dryer also includes two built-in cabinets and a wire rack to easily hang items.

Even if wire shelving isn’t your speed, this feature does add a ton of practical utility.

Final Thoughts on This Manufactured Home

All in all, the “Hickory House” by Eagle River truly lives up to the name. Stunning hickory wood accents and cabinetry are scattered throughout the home and make an impressive statement.

In addition to the eat-in kitchen, hickory cabinets, and gas fireplace, another great thing about this home is that it is customizable. You can select and switch out features to make it to your liking. For instance, there is an option in the primary en-suite bathroom to add a corner soaking tub.

So, what do you say? Are you ready to say yes to “Hickory House?”
