The Coastal Style Home featured in this tour is the “Carolina”, one of Schumacher Homes’s site-built models on display in Wilmington, NC. This is the home that ultimately made me fall head over heels for Schumacher’s Homes. All of their homes are extraordinary, but this one was so unique sitting on stilts, it just stole my heart.

Stepping Inside

When you first walk up to this home, you can enter this home one of two ways. The first is from the elevator beneath the home where you would park your vehicles. The second is by walking up the stairs to the main level porch, where you have access to both the first floor and the in-law suite.

The first level of the main home features a parlor/office area with a wet bar and cabinets, a utility room, 3 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms. The 2 bedrooms on the back side of the home each have separate access out onto the shared back deck.

2nd Level

Taking either the elevator in the hallway or the stairs in the parlor? I’m going to call it a parlor room… You can reach the second level which is home to the master suite, a half bath, a gorgeous kitchen and dining room, and the living room.

100 Questions Every First-Time Home Buyer Should Ask

The ceilings on this level are incredibly stunning, giving you an open airy beach vibe that is driven home even more by the huge wall-to-wall sliding glass doors that give almost a panoramic view out the second-story back deck.

The Master Suite also has a huge private deck on the front of the home with access from both the master bedroom and the master bath.

In-Law Suite

Now to get back to the in-law suite, you will need to venture back down the stairs and out onto the front deck. There you will find the entrance to your in-law suite which continues to exude this home’s coastal style. It is set up as a studio-type room with a kitchenette connected to a large room with table space for a bed and lounging areas, as well as a large bathroom suite.
I love coastal-style homes and the fact that this one had an abundance of bedrooms, bathrooms, and windows… not to mention an in-law suite! This is truly one of my all-time favorites and is definitely on my dream home list. What about yours?
