How To Build A Tiny Home On Wheels: Step By Step
Lancaster Log Cabins “Rancher” Exterior
The “Rancher” cabin trailer is 13 feet wide and 31 feet long. The exterior is constructed from stained logs and a gorgeous rustic green metal roof. I love the dark bronze front door coming up to the house and the matching bronze frames around the windows.
I think my favorite part about the outside of the house is all of the windows. Not only do they provide amazing light to the inside of the home, but they make the cabin stand out. Especially the windows stacked at the loft area and below.

The Living Room/Kitchen
Seeing as this is a tiny home (measuring 399 sq ft) you really have to maximize the space and make the most out of it and Zook’s has done a really great job of that throughout the home. Entering through the front door the first stop is the living room/kitchen/dining room common area.
It’s a really nice size area and seems even larger and open with its high cathedral ceilings that are accented with exposed beams. The wood siding on the walls and matching flooring really make the space feel rustic and warm.
The best thing about the park model cabins from Zook Cabins is that they all include the turn-key package, meaning that everything down to the fixtures and light switches is included in the purchase of the home.
Ultimate Guide to Creating Spaces You Never Want to Leave
What you see in the model and in this tour, is exactly what comes when purchasing a cabin. The common area is decorated beautifully. To the right of the front door is a futon couch that converts into a bed.
There is a gorgeous wood table with a futon. Coming around the room, the next area is the kitchen complete with wood cabinets, of course.
There is quite a bit of counter and cabinet space available, which is also nice. The appliances come standard with the home, including the microwave.
The Dining Area
Just past the kitchen is the dining area. There is a built-in breakfast table with matching stools. I think this is my favorite part of the house. It just looks so cozy and rustic! Actually, I think there are too many things about this house that are my favorite to say that. The next stop on the tour is one of them.

The Loft
Finally, to the right of the front door is the loft area. I don’t know why I love lofts so much, I think because they remind me of being a kid and playing in forts or tents. It just makes it seem so much more fun to be in a loft.
Anyways, the loft is accessible from a ladder and has room for one or two air mattresses or sleeping bags. There is a double light fixture positioned in the middle so if there were two beds set up they would both have good lighting.

The Bedrooms & Bathroom
There is a bedroom located at each end of the house. To the left is the second bedroom, which has a full bed with a bunk bed above it that is built-in to the room. I really love the little details in this home.
One of them, is the built-in nightstand shelf next to the bed. Next to that bedroom is the full bathroom. The bathroom has a wall-mounted sink with a medicine cabinet above, a toilet, and 4-foot shower.
At the other end of the home is the master bedroom. The master is a really nice size and has those same cathedral ceilings, opening up the room. To the left of the bed are beautiful built-in shelves made of the same wood as the tables and shelving in the previous bedroom.
There are also small built-in nightstands on either side of the bed. The bed frame in this room is also built-in, which I find to be really handy and neat.
Final Thoughts
That sums up the “Rancher” by Lancaster Log Homes available from Zook Cabins. Let me know what you think of the home. Do you like that everything comes standard with the home or would you rather decorate it yourself? How do you feel about the rusticness of the cabin and all of the wood features?
Thank you for touring with me today and as always, I’ll see you in the next one 🙂
