I toured the “Sugar Ridge” by John Maher Builders while on a recent trip to Tennessee. John Maher Builders has served Tennessee with award-winning custom homes for over 30 years. They have a stellar reputation for meticulous attention to detail and delivering long-lasting value.

The exterior of this modern farmhouse-style home includes white-washed brick with black-framed windows. The nearly all-white exterior is broken up with dark board-and-batten and traditional siding. Multiple gables add additional farmhouse-style charm to the home.

Around the side of the home, access the three-car garage. The garage includes two garage doors; one is double-wide and the second is a single-stall. Finally, the rear of the home includes a covered back porch and a patio.

Modern Home Interior Design

In the interior of the home, polished accents, plank floors, and natural light are abundant. A two-story foyer leads to a spacious open-concept floor plan. The open staircase to the upper level offers a glimpse of the catwalk on the second level.

A spacious at-home office resides behind glass-paned doors directly off the home’s entryway.

Kitchen + Dining Area

The living area seamlessly flows into the gourmet kitchen. The eat-in kitchen boasts polished white countertops, luxurious cabinetry, a polished herringbone-style backsplash, under-cabinet lighting, and an expansive island.

The island includes a convenient overhang that easily fits four barstools. On the opposite side of the island, an apron sink, dishwasher, and built-in microwave await.

Adding to the home’s luxurious charm is an eight-burner gas range with a built-in range hood. A convenient pot filler rests just above the range. Plenty of cabinet and counter space alike are available. There is even a top row of glass-paned cabinets to add additional charm to the gourmet kitchen.

The spacious kitchen also boasts a walk-in pantry. The oversized pantry includes convenient wooden built-ins to store food and large kitchen gadgets with ease.

The dining area resides just off the kitchen in a separate alcove. The dining area boasts waistcoat paneling, plank flooring, and oversized windows on two sides.

Laundry Room

Off the living area to the right, you’ll find a makeshift mudroom with a convenient dropzone and entry-level laundry room. The laundry room includes washer and dryer hookups, built-in cabinets, and a built-in hanging rack.

Across from the laundry room, access the spacious three-car garage.

The Master Suite

The “Sugar Ridge” model includes an entry-level primary suite. Access the primary suite from a door off the living area. This primary suite is truly unlike anything we’ve ever seen before.

The room includes a vaulted ceiling, exposed trusses, access to his and her closets, and an en-suite bathroom. The his and her closets include spacious wooden built-ins.

The Master Bathroom

The primary en-suite bathroom boasts a luxurious double vanity, intricate tile flooring, a soaking tub, a water closet, and a glass-enclosed shower.

The subway tile-surround shower sits in the corner of the bathroom across from the water closet.

Additional Bedrooms

The home’s upper level includes three additional bedrooms, a hall bathroom, and a bonus space. All three bedrooms include plank flooring, convenient storage, and closet space.

The first bedroom includes two built-in bookcases with a reading bench. The reading bench even includes additional storage. A Jack-and-Jill bathroom connects this first bedroom to the second. The Jack-and-Jill bathroom features dark honeycomb tile flooring, a single vanity with extra counter space, and access to closet space. A door separates the vanity and closet from the tile-surround tubbed shower and toilet.

The second bedroom is nearly a duplicate of the first. The bedroom includes the same plank flooring, built-in bookcases, and a reading bench. A cutout in the hallway outside the second bedroom offers a view down into the main living area of the home.

The final bedroom is located adjacent to the bonus room on the far side of the catwalk. While the final bedroom doesn’t include the built-in bookshelves or reading bench, it does include two closets.

One of the closets is on the smaller side, but the second is a large walk-in closet with wooden built-ins. The room also has access to a shared hall bathroom. The hall bathroom includes a single vanity, tile flooring, and a tile-surround tubbed shower.

Bonus Room

Across the hall from the final bedroom is an oversized bonus room. The bonus room offers incredible flexibility to become a game room, second living room, or movie theater.

Because the home boasts abundant storage space, it comes as no surprise that the bonus room also includes a large closet.

Three-Car Garage

Access the home’s three-car garage off the owner’s entry in the interior of the home. The owner’s entry conveniently includes a built-in dropzone with a bench and cubbies.
