I came across the “Center Street” while on a recent trip to, well, Michigan. It was on display at Preferred Homes right there in Grand Rapids and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

The “Center Street” has an amazing shotgun style design with a beautiful kitchen and a large corner pantry. This home can either be built as a manufactured home or a modular home depending on your preference and price point.

Exterior of This 2 Bedroom House

The outside of this cute little shotgun style modular home features a beautiful gray vinyl siding with nice white trim going all the way around the home. On the front side of the house there is a nice, covered porch, sitting off to the left-hand side. It has plenty of space for a couple of chairs, as well as, a small table.

As you work your way around to the right-hand side of the home, you will notice several more windows peering out of both the master bedroom and the kitchen. In between those two windows is a doorway that leads out of the laundry room. Here you could add an additional garage which would really give this home a unique look and add plenty of functional space.

Along the backside of the home, there are several more windows coming out of, again, the master bedroom and the master bathroom.

On the left-hand side of the home there are even more windows that look into the living room and the second bedroom. 

2 Bedroom House Interior Design

When you first enter this home off the porch, you are greeted with views into the dining room, kitchen, and part of the living room. There is a beautiful vinyl floor that runs throughout all these areas except for the living room. The flooring in the living room transitions to carpet. 

The Dining Room

The dining room is the first area that you enter, and it has plenty of space for a nice-sized table. Surrounding the dining room are several windows that help provide tremendous amounts of natural light and offer a unique dining experience.

Furthermore, there is plenty of space to add several small cabinets to help enhance the overall look of the dining room. 

The Kitchen

Behind the dining room you will find the kitchen. The kitchen is a nice size and has plenty of cabinets and counter space.

In the middle of the kitchen, you will find a perfectly square island with nice quartz countertops and plenty of seats surrounding two of the sides. On the kitchen side of the island, you will also find a beautiful green-blue cabinetry with several drawers and cabinets. 

The rest of the kitchen is laid out in an “L” shape with the sink and dishwasher sitting just below a window looking out into the side yard. To the right of the sink is the stove with a built-in microwave sitting just above it.

Along the back wall you will find the refrigerator and a small counter space. Splitting these two sections of the kitchen is a large corner pantry. The pantry has plenty of space for a whole heap of food, so you will never be left looking for somewhere to put all your groceries. 

The Living Room

Across from the kitchen you will enter the living room. Again, the living room does transition into carpet, however, if you wanted to continue to run the vinyl floors through this area you could do so.

The living room is very spacious and offers plenty of different options when it comes to furniture arrangement. There are also several windows within the living room that really help brighten the space up.

Overall, it is a super cozy feeling room, and I could see spending some lazy weekends relaxing and watching some TV in here. 

The Laundry Room

Between the kitchen and the living room is a hallway that leads down to all the bedrooms, bathroom and laundry room.

However, the first door that you come to on the right-hand side, is the doorway into the laundry room. Here you will find washer and dryer hookups, a nice sized linen closet, and the furnace.

The side door sits at the back of the laundry room and (like I mentioned earlier) could lead out into the future garage. 

The Secondary Bedroom and Bath

Moving further down the hallway, you will come to several doorways on either side. To the right side is the first full bathroom. This bathroom features a single vanity with a beautiful countertop, as well as, a large mirror and a light fixture.

Within the bathroom you will also find the toilet and a shower and tub combo with a nice transom window sitting above it. 

Across the hall from this bathroom is the secondary bedroom. This bedroom sits on the left-hand side of the home and measures in at approximately 12ft 6in X 10ft 7in. It has plenty of space for a nice sized bed, as well as, a dresser and a couple of nightstands.

There is also a nice-sized window looking out into the side yard that helps provide additional light into the room itself.

Along the back wall of this bedroom, you will find 2 doors, the door on the right-hand side leads into a nice-sized closet with plenty of room for clothes or additional storage. The door on the left-hand side opens to reveal a water heater.

I did find this quite unusual! However, I assumed that if this home was to be set on a basement type foundation, then the water heater could go in the basement. Beyond that I found it to be in a peculiar location. 

The Master Bedroom

At the end of the hallway, you will come to the master bedroom. The master bedroom is quite spacious measuring in at approximately 12ft 6in X 12ft 0in.

It has plenty of room for a large king-size bed, as well as, several dressers and nightstands.

There are also a couple of windows that really help brighten up the space and two doorways that lead into both a gigantic walk-in closet and the ensuite.

The Master Bathroom

The ensuite features a large double vanity with plenty of cabinets and drawers as well as a beautiful countertop. At the back of the ensuite you will find a gorgeous walk-in shower. The shower has plenty of different shower heads and a lovely tile surround that goes all the way up to the ceiling.

Around the corner from the shower, you will find the toilet tucked away in a secluded nook. Then just behind the door as you enter the ensuite you will find a large closet.

Personally, I thought that the water heater would be better suited here, if you are not otherwise on a basement type foundation. However, that is just my opinion, and I would love to hear your thoughts on it down in the comments.

Final Thoughts On This 2 Bedroom House
